So How "Green" is Paperless Payroll?

A small company (about 15 employees) paying bi-weekly would save over 600 sheets of paper per year.  In addition to the resources saved to make the paper, a lot of toner and electricity will be saved by not having to print all those checks and reports.  Also, by going paperless there isn't any need to use a lot of gasoline to deliver a paper payroll package and the customer saves the cost of delivery.  It's difficult to estimate how much energy is saved by having all employees using direct deposit, but the savings is significant when you consider how many trips to the bank are eliminated.   As the size of the company grows, the savings of paper and toner grows proportionately. And the savings of resources and delivery expenses doubles for the company that pays weekly
